Sparkling sugar adds festive flair to these cranberry scones. I love serving these during the holidays as a brunch treat, and my family seems to love eating them!

2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1/2 Cup(c)  granulated sugar
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Cup(c)  fresh or frozen cranberries, thawed
1/2 Cup(c)  butter, melted
1 Tablespoon(T)  milk
2   large eggs
1 Tablespoon(T)  milk
2 Tablespoon(T)  sparkling sugar


Stir together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir in cranberries. Whisk together butter, 1 1/2 cup milk, and 1 egg. Add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened and dough forms. Drop dough by 1 1/3 cupfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Whisk together remaining 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of milk. Brush tops of dough with egg mixture, and sprinkle evenly with sparkling sugar. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
