Recipe Description
Old fashioned spoon bread is a cinch to bake. My family always loves it with a hearty bowl of chilli.

Ingredients

2 Cup(c)  cornmeal
1 Tablespoon(T)  sugar
1 Teaspoon(t)  salt
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
4 Cup(c)  sour milk
1   egg
1 Tablespoon(T)  fat

Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together, and add milk gradually. Drop in egg, add fat and beat mixture thoroughly. Bake in greased baking dish in a moderately hot 375° F oven for 30 to 45 minutes, depending upon size and depth of pan.
