Recipe Description
Red delicious apples are so naturally sweet that when you bake them with a little spice in a pie, they cook down into a treat so sweet you'd never be able to guess this was sugar free if you didn't know it.

Ingredients

4   red delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  nutmeg
1/4 Cup(c)  flour
1 Tablespoon(T)  lemon juice
1 Package(pk)  pie crust
1/4 Cup(c)  milk or cream

Preparation

Combine all of the ingredients except the pie crusts in a large bowl. Mix to combine thoroughly. Set aside. Preheat oven to 400º. Lay the pie crust in a pie tin, allowing the edges to hang over the sides. Fill the pie crust with the apples. Lay the other crust over top and pinch together the edges, crimping either by hand or with a fork. Using a pairing knife, gently vent the top crust in pattern of your choice. Brush the top with the milk or cream and place the pie on a baking sheet. Bake for 35-45 minutes until top is brown and apple filling is bubbly. Allow to cool completely before slicing the pie.
