All American Barbeque Sauce

Recipe Description
Any southerner worth their salt, knows how to make good barbecue sauce, and this recipe is a good representation.  A tangy, rich sauce that will complement grilled meats and poultry dishes.

1 Tablespoon(T)  dijon mustard
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  tabasco sauce, or more to taste
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  kosher salt
1 Tablespoon(T)  chili powder, ground
1/2 Cup(c)  light brown sugar, packed
1/4 Cup(c)  worcestershire sauce
2 Tablespoon(T)  apple cider vinegar
1 Cup(c)  ketchup
3 Clove(clv)  garlic, minced
1 Cup(c)  onions, chopped
2 Teaspoon(t)  vegetable oil


Heat the oil in a saucepan and saute the onions and garlic over moderate heat until golden, about 10 minutes.  Keep covered between stirrings.  Meanwhile, combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl.  When the onions are ready, stir the mixture into the pot.  Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
