Recipe Description
An excellent dish for weeknight cooking, potatoes au gratin go well with almost any entree, but particularly with beef.

1/2 Cup(c)  milk
2 Tablespoon(T)  onions, grated
1 Pinch(pn)  salt, to taste
1 1/8 Pound(lb)  american cheese, grated
2 Cup(c)  potatoes
1 Teaspoon(t)  paprika
1 Pinch(pn)  pepper, to taste
1 Tablespoon(T)  margarine, cut in pieces


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place potatoes in a saucepan, cover with water. Bring to a
boil. Reduce heat and cook until partially cooked. Drain, cool, peel and slice. Grease a baking dish. Add one layer of potatoes, grated cheese, grated onion, salt and pepper. Dot with margarine. Repeat until all potatoes are used. Add milk and sprinkle with paprika. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 30 minutes, or until milk is absorbed.
