2 Cup(c)  flour
1 Teaspoon(t)  soda
1 Pinch(pn)  salt (optional)
3 Tablespoon(T)  shortening
1 Cup(c)  sour milk or buttermilk


Rub dry ingredients and shortening together to make fine crumbs. Add milk, stirring with fork until soft dough is formed. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly brown.
