Recipe Description
This zesty sauce is a must with chile rellenos, but it works equally well with many Latin inspired dishes.

Ingredients

3   ancho chiles, dried
1 3/4 Cup(c)  chicken broth
1 Clove(clv)  garlic, minced
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  cumin, ground
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  kosher salt

Preparation

Roast the chiles on a hot comal until soft and pliable.  Remove chiles from comal and allow to cool down a little.  Remove stems and seeds.  Place all ingredients in a sauce pan and simmer for 15 minutes.  Pour in a blender and puree.  Pour the sauce through a sieve into a bowl, mash with the back of a spoon, until chile solids are left.  Discard chile solids.  Serve warm.
