Recipe Description
Asparagus is topped with a butter and bread crumb mixture, then baked until golden. This is a great dish for getting the kids to eat asparagus.

Ingredients

3 Pound(lb)  asparagus
1 Pinch(pn)  salt
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoon(T)  butter
1 1/2 Tablespoon(T)  bread crumbs, toasted

Preparation

Wash the asparagus very well. Cut out the hard parts. Place in a kettle, cover with small amount of boiling water, add salt and sugar. Cook 15 minutes. Drain. Place on a warmed serving platter. Mix butter and bread crumb mixture until crumbly. Pour over the asparagus. Broil a few minutes until topping is golden.
