Recipe Description
A traditional way to prepare winter squash. This is a great hearty side dish for cold nights, when winter squash is the most plentiful.

Ingredients

2   small acorn squash (1 pound each), each cut lengthwise in half and seeded
2 Tablespoon(T)  butter, cut into pieces
1/4 Cup(c)  brown sugar, packed

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 by 9 inch baking dish. Place squash, cut side down, in baking dish. Bake 30 minutes. Turn cut side up. Place one fourth of butter and brown sugar in each cavity. Bake until squash is tender and butter and brown sugar have melted, about 5 minutes longer.
