1   butternut squash


Preheat the oven to 375° F. To ease clean up, line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Cut the squash in half lengthwise. Scoop out and discard the seeds and stringy flesh. Place cut side down on the baking sheet. Bake until tender, or when the tip of a sharp knife can be easily inserted through the skin. This takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the size of the squash.
