Recipe Description
This classic, fresh tasting sauce originating in Italy is a favorite to use with vegetables and soups, especially minestrone, and with seafood.

Ingredients

2 Cup(c)  fresh basil leaves, washed, dried and firmly packed
2   sprigs parsley
2 Clove(clv)  garlic, cut up
3 Tablespoon(T)  pine nuts, chopped
1/4 Cup(c)  parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Pinch(pn)  pepper, freshly ground, to taste
4 Tablespoon(T)  olive oil

Preparation

In a food processor or blender, place all ingredients except oil. Process until minced. With motor running, slowly pour oil through the tube and blend. Scrape down sides of bowl with spatula. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until ready to use, or freeze for several months. Bring to room temperature before using.
