This is a good meal to start in the morning when you know company will be over later. Just add a nice salad or vegetable.

2 Slice(sli)  bacon, chopped
2 Pound(lb)  sirloin tip
1/4 Cup(c)  flour
1 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1 Teaspoon(t)  seasoned salt
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  marjoram
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  thyme
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  pepper
1 Clove(clv)  garlic, minced
2   beef boullion cubes, crushed
2 Cup(c)  burgundy wine
1/3 Pound(lb)  fresh mushrooms, sliced
4 Tablespoon(T)  cornstarch (optional)
4 Tablespoon(T)  water (optional)


In a large skillet, cook the bacon.

Remove bacon and set aside.

Coat beef with flour and brown on all sides in bacon drippings.

Combine steak, bacon drippings, cooked bacon, all seasonings, bouillon and burgundy in a slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender.

Turn to high and add mushrooms; cook on high for 15 minutes.

To thicken sauce, if desired, add 4 tablespoons of cornstarch (dissolved in 4 tablespoons cold water) with mushrooms.

Serve over cooked rice or egg noodles.
