Ingredients

1 Cup(c)  quick pearled barley
1 Tablespoon(T)  vinegar
1 Tablespoon(T)  brown sugar
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  pepper
2 Teaspoon(t)  salt
2   beef boullion cubes
1 Cup(c)  water
6 Ounce(oz)  tomato paste
1 Pound(lb)  can whole tomatoes
1 Clove(clv)  garlic, crushed
1   medium onion, chopped
1   medium green pepper, chopped
1 Pound(lb)  ground beef

Preparation

Lightly brown meat in a large kettle; drain off excess fat.

Add green pepper, onion and garlic; saute lightly.

Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.

Cover; simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
