Recipe Description
This elegant and flavorful soup makes a great addition to formal dinner parties. Serve it with noodles or croutons after the meat course, as a light palate cleanser.

3 Pint(pt)  cherries
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  cloves
4 Cup(c)  water
1 Teaspoon(t)  cornstarch
1 Tablespoon(T)  cold water
1/2 Cup(c)  sugar
3/4 Cup(c)  sour cream


Add the cherries, cinnamon and cloves to boiling water. Bring to boil. Simmer for 15 minutes. Rub through a sieve. Add the cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water. Bring to boil. Add the sugar. Cool thoroughly. Add sour cream.
