Here is a refreshing soup to serve as a palate teaser for summer entertaining. Serve with your favorite crusty bread for a simple meal.

1 Pinch(pn)  white pepper, ground, to taste
1/2   tomato, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 Pinch(pn)  salt, to taste
3   fresh basil leaves, torn
1 Teaspoon(t)  lemon juice
3 Tablespoon(T)  red onion, chopped
2 1/2 Cup(c)  buttermilk
2   avocados, peeled, pitted and cut into chunks
1   large cucumber, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks


In a food processor or blender, combine all ingredients except tomatoes. Blend until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for several hours. Serve in bowls topped with tomatoes and a dollop of creme fraiche, if desired.
