Make this sweet appetizer ahead and freeze. Then simply defrost cut into small rectangular shapes and spread with cream cheese mixture. Garnish the serving platter with colorful flowers.

2 Cup(c)  boiling water
1 Pound(lb)  dates, chopped
2 Tablespoon(T)  butter
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
2 Cup(c)  sugar
3 1/2 Cup(c)  flour
2 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla extract
1 Cup(c)  walnuts, chopped
1/2 Cup(c)  pineapple cream cheese


Line 2 bread pans with brown paper and grease well. In a bowl, mix water, dates and butter together and allow to cool. Add baking soda, sugar, flour, vanilla and nuts, stirring until just mixed. Pour into pans and bake in a 325 degree F oven for 1 hour, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Slice bread, then cut each slice in half. Spread each slice with pineapple cream cheese and arrange on a serving platter.
