1/2 Cup(c)  butter, softened
1/3 Cup(c)  brown sugar
1 1/2 Teaspoon(t)  ginger, ground
1 Teaspoon(t)  cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  nutmeg
1/3 Cup(c)  brown sugar
1/4 Cup(c)  butter
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking soda
1/4 Cup(c)  milk
1 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla
1/2 Cup(c)  sour cream
1/2 Cup(c)  buttermilk
1/2 Cup(c)  light molasses
2 1/2 Cup(c)  all purpose flour
1/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
3 Cup(c)  powdered sugar


In a large bowl, combine 1/4 cup butter with brown sugar and beat well. Then add sour cream, buttermilk and molasses and beat again. Stir in flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and baking soda until a dough forms. Cover dough and chill for at least 1 hour in the fridge. Preheat oven to 375° F. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with palm of hand. Bake 8 to 13 minutes, or until cookies are puffed and set. Let cool on baking sheet 2 to 3 minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool. Frost cooled cookies with browned butter mixture.
