| 1/2 | Cup(c) | butter | |
| 5 | Cup(c) | apples, peeled and sliced | |
| 3 | Tablespoon(T) | tapioca | |
| 2/3 | Teaspoon(t) | cinnamon |
Preparation
Cut flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and butter together with two knives or a pastry cutter. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture on bottom and sides of 8 or 9 inch square pan. Mix apples, 1/2 cup sugar, tapioca and cinnamon, and spread over crust. Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top and bake 20 minutes more. Serve warm or cold, with whipped cream or ice cream.
