This sponge cake turns out light and airy. A versatile cake for parties, celebrations or everday enjoyment.

2 Cup(c)  cake flour
2 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
1 Teaspoon(t)  salt
4   eggs
2 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla
2 Cup(c)  granulated sugar
1 Cup(c)  milk
2 Tablespoon(T)  butter


Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Beat eggs and vanilla together, then gradually add sugar and continue beating until mixture becomes light and lemon colored. Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Bring milk and butter to the boiling point, then quickly stir into batter. Blend well. Pour quickly into a 13 by 9 by 2 inch baking pan which has been greased and floured on the bottom only. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes.
