Ingredients

6 Tablespoon(T)  sugar
4 Cup(c)  peaches, sliced
6 Tablespoon(T)  sugar
2 Cup(c)  flour
4 Teaspoon(t)  baking powder
3/4 Teaspoon(t)  salt
1/3 Cup(c)  shortening
1   large egg, beaten
2 Cup(c)  milk

Preparation

Sprinkle sugar over sliced peaches. Set aside. Sift flour. Add baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening. Add egg and milk, then stir until moistened. Spread dough onto a well greased 9 by 13 inch pan. Arrange peach slices over dough. To make Topping: Cream together 1/4 cup margarine, 1/4 cup sugar and 3 Tbsp. flour. When mixed, drop spoonfuls over peaches. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes.
