Slow cooker meals are so easy to prepare, and you get the benefit of wonderful aromas filling the house throughout the day. Try this dish with the addition of hot pepper sauce for and extra added kick.

1 Dash(ds)  hot pepper sauce (optional)
1 Pound(lb)  shrimp, with tails, cooked, shelled and deveined
1/2 Teaspoon(t)  cajun seasoning
2 Clove(clv)  garlic, chopped
1/4 Cup(c)  water
6 1/2 Ounce(oz)  long grain and wild rice mix
1 Cup(c)  green peppers, chopped
1 Cup(c)  onions, chopped
14 Ounce(oz)  chicken broth
28 Ounce(oz)  tomatoes, cut up


In 3 1/2 or 4 quart slow cooker, combine tomatoes with their juice, chicken broth, onions, green peppers, rice mix with seasoning packet, water, garlic and Cajun seasoning. Cover slow cooker. Cook on low heat setting for 5 to 6 hours or on high heat setting for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. If necessary, raise temperature to high heat setting. Stir shrimp into rice mixture. Cover slow cooker and cook 15 minutes longer. If desired, add hot pepper sauce, to taste.
