Recipe Description
Eggnog can be made in various alcohol concentrations by decreasing (or increasing) the amount of rum or brandy.  When adding the tiny pinch of salt, just 6 or 7 grains will do, if you're counting.

2 Pinch(pn)  cinnamon or nutmeg, ground
1 Pinch(pn)  salt
1 Cup(c)  rum, or brandy
1 1/4 Teaspoon(t)  vanilla extract
1/2 Cup(c)  sugar
4   egg yolks
1 Cup(c)  milk
1 Cup(c)  milk

Preparation

Heat milk in a medium saucepan over medium low heat.  Do not boil.  In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar until combined and foamy.  Add vanilla and hot milk, pouring in a little milk at a time while beating constantly.  Stir rum into milk mixture.  Add salt.  Top with ground cinnamon or nutmeg.  Serve hot.

Additional notes

For a sweeter drink, increase amount of sugar.
